You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a binding contract. FirstSteps is a tool for parents and guardians and is not intended for use by children. If you add a child profile, you confirm that you are that child’s parent or legal guardian.

FirstSteps provides supportive, educational guidance, tracking and general information only. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It never replaces the judgement of a qualified healthcare professional. Awareness features are designed to help you notice and reflect, never to diagnose. Always seek professional advice for any medical concern, and call your local emergency number in an emergency.

Features such as the Lumi coach and summaries are generated by artificial intelligence. They can be helpful but may sometimes be incomplete, out of date or incorrect. You are responsible for how you use their output, and you should not rely on it for medical, legal or other professional decisions.

Keep your login details secure and let us know promptly of any unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity under your account. The information you enter should be accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Use FirstSteps lawfully and respectfully. In the optional parent community, do not post content that is harmful, hateful, harassing, misleading, unlawful, or that shares another person’s private information. Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer or misuse the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules or the law.

You keep ownership of the content you add. You grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to operate and provide the service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you post in the community.

Some features require a paid subscription. Prices, billing periods, auto-renewal and cancellation are set out in the Subscription Terms. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed and managed by those stores under their terms.

FirstSteps, including its software, design, content and brand, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell or create derivative works from it.

If you download FirstSteps from the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies, and in the event of a conflict for that download it prevails over any inconsistent part of these Terms. You acknowledge that this agreement is between you and us, not with Apple or Google, that the store is not responsible for the app or for support, and that the store and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries entitled to enforce these Terms against you.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You can stop using FirstSteps and delete your account at any time from your Profile, or via Delete Account & Data. We may suspend or end access if these Terms or the law are broken, or if we discontinue the service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Country / state of governing law], without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts there will have jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law gives you additional rights. We would always rather resolve concerns directly, so please contact us first.
